400 Years The Netherlands and Turkey

In 2012 The Netherlands and Turkey are celebrating 400 years of diplomatic relations. Folkcorn was invited to come and play in Turkey and participate in the Hattusa project 2012 which combines reconstructed music of the Hittites with other Turkish music and the early Dutch and Flemish music of Folkcorn. This event took place in the city of Gaziantep on May 25th, with a live-transmission on Turkish TV RTR-M. Then we flew to Ankara and played a concert in a school. Large part of Folkcorn's repertoire dates from the era in which the Dutch-Turkish relations started.
