Founded in 1973, the Wageningen-based folk group Folkcorn celebrates its 50th anniversary on Sunday August 20th between 3 and 5 p.m., with a free open-air concert and the presentation of the double CD 'Blijschap' (‘Joy’) at the castle wall in the Torckpark of Wageningen, NL. Folkcorn plays early Dutch and Flemish folk music. ‘Blijschap’ is the 8th album of the group.

On Monday April 18th, 2016 Folkcorn participated in the shooting of a programme for the Chinese TV. The event took place in the world-famous Keukenhof of Lisse, The Netherlands. In this programme Race the world famous Chinese persons engage in several kinds of contests in countries all over the world. Folkcorn played during a ‘typical Dutch’ cheese-carrying contest.
